With a new primary school less than 1,000m from the existing Brize Norton Primary School, there is a very real risk that our existing school may have to close.  Will we soon be forced into running a SOS (Save our School) campaign. There is spare capacity in the schools situated to the West of Carterton. [PARISH COUNCIL]

Will the new development affect Brize Norton Primary School?  Well it could!

There is a proposal to build a new primary school on the East site. This is because the houses would be too far from existing schools. A new school would mean the closure of one school in Carterton and probably Brize Norton Primary School too. This would be a tragedy as this school has an excellent reputation and a very recent new extension which has made the school extremely desirable. Its closure would mean Brize Norton children would have to walk much further to attend school. This is an extreme example of BAD PLANNING and is UNSUSTAINABLE.
